Our Story Begins…
Once there was a boy named Neil
And an owl who made his friendship so real.

Their bond grew strong since the day he met her,
She perched on their window sill ever and after.

One day a lumber company came
And devastated their forest terrain.

The poor owl had no place to go,
Adrift in the big wide world she’d grown so slow.

But the boy had a plan,
He in his heart felt it span.

Though just one single thought on his mind he’d receive:
“If we find her greener pastures she’ll never leave.”

The boy spent days looking for a new home,
Tree to tree he’d scour and roam.

Until one day he met an old man whose love for nature was dedicated to the end,
He had a spare hollow tucked in his wooded garden glen.

The old man welcomed the owl with arms wide open and a smile
Erasing Neil’s worries for awhile.

He says goodbye, his friendship made so true:
“You’ll always be my feathered friend forever, adieu.”
